Blues music was spawned from the dark periods of slavery and segregation in the US. For oppressed people, music was often a great source of solace and inspiration. Juke It Out, led by Lily Thibodeau, pays tribute to those people by invoking the joyful experience of southern juke joints where many blues pioneers found their audience. It’s a musical history of the blues.
