ECO-RESPONSIBILITY

The Tremblant International Blues Festival is proud to announce its commitment to environmental responsibility. We firmly believe that it is essential to preserve our environment in order to ensure a healthy, equitable and prosperous quality of life for our generations and those to come. You will find below our current actions, we work to improve this list year after year.

Transportation

  • Tremblant is a pedestrian site, so once you're there you can walk to everything.
  • Free shuttles are available for accommodations outside the resort.
  • The transportation network of the city of Mont Tremblant is also free and allows to connect the three poles: St Jovite, Lake Mercier and the resort.
  • Bicycle paths also connect all the poles.

Parking

  • Parking is available in the hotels but also around the resort, free shuttles allow you to get from your car to the festival for free.
  • Preferred parking spaces are now reserved for carpooling in Tremblant’s parking lots (3 or more people per car). A total of 60 parking spaces have been allocated in P1-P2-P3-P6.
  • Electric charging stations are available in the hotels and in the VIP parking lot. 40 charging stations for electric cars are available in various parking lots in the pedestrian village. They are identified with a green icon and are reserved for electric cars only. Any non-rechargeable car will be towed at the owner's expense. Please use courtesy and move your car when it is recharged.

Lodging

  • Everything at Tremblant has been designed to help you relax, just bring your suitcase.
  • The layout of the village at the base of Mont Tremblant is characterised by a dense central core that encourages walking. In addition, most of the hotels and residential complexes are served free of charge by a network of shuttles. This organisation limits the use of cars, thereby reducing air pollution. Favouring densification of the area over a more spread out development also reduces the rate of deforestation per housing unit.

Respect of the natural environment

  • No liquid or solid material shall be discharged directly into water or near waterways or lakes.
  • No natural element (plant, rock, dead wood, etc.) may be taken from the natural environment.
  • As of 2009, the watering of landscaping on the South Slope no longer uses potable water. The water required is drawn from Mirror Lake and is not treated. The water is pumped to the pedestrian village. Watering is done at night or early in the morning to reduce water loss through evaporation.
  • Toilets are available at several strategic locations on the site, we proceed to the frequent cleaning of these.

Supplying

  • We prioritize local suppliers whenever possible to promote the local economy and local knowledge.
  • All our purchases are thought out to increase the life cycle of our assets and avoid over-consumption.

Waste management

  • Sorting islands (recycling, compost, waste) are available to preserve the environment. We have our own processing center.
  • When possible, we re-use our signage (reprinting of coroplasts).
  • A daily cleaning service is performed on the site during and after the event.
  • Calculation and compensation of carbon emissions.

Social commitment

  • Promoting local employment: our research focuses primarily on people living in the surroundings of Mont Tremblant, we expand the area as needed.
  • Mobilization of volunteers: volunteers play an essential role in the operation and sustainability of our festival, whether in transportation, in the dressing rooms, on the site, they are everywhere ...
